Welcome
I am happy to be with you on your journey of healing, transformation, and of felt unity with all things.
You may be wondering, what do nonduality, yoga, and bodywork have in common? How do they come together into a cohesive practice?
Heather found bodywork twenty years ago through intense physical pain caused by unmanaged stress. Around the same time, she deepened her yoga practice. Through diligent work not only in the physical aspects but in body awareness, cultivating contentment, and questioning beliefs that were no longer serving her, she bridged the gap that had been created in resisting the flow of life. In time, Heather’s health and sense of clarity were vastly improved. In 2020, after a series of curveballs, Heather was faced with the question: what is all this? This led to nonduality – neither a practice nor a philosophy but a simple recognition that one never stopped being whole and complete. The rest is history.
Each of these practices served an integral role based on where her experience was, and each one informed and enhanced the others. In this way, with yoga the mind quieted but there was no framework to understand this quiet, Similarly, in her experience, nonduality separate from yoga and bodywork was missing a key aspect of nervous system regulation and integration.
Each practice has its own framework, and each one is a tool that can meet us where we are.
We can release long-held tension patterns through Myofascial Release – creating a physical space for the body to let go of what the mind may have already forgotten. Return life-giving fluid to the tissue, and let go of what got it stuck.
We can mimic the rhythmic ocean waves with Lomilomi, allowing the rocking and flowing movements to lull us beyond the mind’s chatter, even releasing old stored emotions. Flow like water.
We can practice yang yoga to align the energy in the body, preparing for meditation; we can practice yin yoga to deeply open the tissue, another way to release stored emotions from the body and learn to be still even in a storm. We can practice yogic philosophy and experience body, mind, and spirit as one. Be like water.
We can explore nonduality – a return to truth and peace, behind all the chatter. This is the thread of truth weaving through philosophy and human behavior. Forget the water, and just be.
